Sr. Procurement Manager - Food Ingredients

Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing and distribution of ingredients and other products for the food industry and sells its products through various channels that include bakeries, restaurant chains, food processors, grocery stores and supermarkets. We’re currently seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to develop and lead strategic sourcing initiatives for food ingredients and food packaging categories.

Primary Responsibilities
- Perform spend, contract and market analysis for Ingredient categories
- Manage and lead strategic sourcing projects working cross functionally both with internal team and vendors.
- Source and qualify new suppliers/vendors
- Review cost of goods regularly and make substitution recommendations in the interest of cost, quantity, quality or delivery time.
- Lead efforts to expand ability to source ingredients for new products, new channels, new geographies and new categories
- Support all Supply Chain programs (and R&D / New Product Development) including supplier engagement as well as process improvement
- Conduct RFQ events, prepare bid analysis and present sourcing recommendations to Executive Leadership
- Manage supplier performance supporting Supplier Relationship Management initiatives working in conjunction with Quality & SQF leadership.
- Formalize Strategic Contract negotiations and implement objectives in conjunction on some projects with VP Purchasing
- Assess supplier business continuity plans
- Review Supplier audits with Quality Team to ensure compliance with SQF program

- 5-7 years’ experience utilizing strategic sourcing in food or related environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field required
- Experience in successful contract negotiations and achieving annual cost reduction targets
- Ability to form strong alignment with Stakeholders and Sr. Leadership Team
- Sound interpersonal skill set to work effectively within cross-functional teams
- Advanced analytical skills with the capability to strategically influence in order to drive and deliver objectives and execution
- Takes initiative to deliver business results and improvement to P&L
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- ERP (SAP) experience preferred
