Job Description
The Production Planning Manager will be responsible for overseeing a department of approximately 7 direct reports covering 2 plants. The business has annual sales of ~ $200M.

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels of semi-finished/finished goods, while at the same time achieving the service level goal set by the North America senior management team.
- Manage production orders for the plants and work closely with Order Management to support production and fulfillment of sales orders
- Serve as a key liaison between customer service and production within the organization
- Ensure proper receipt, storage, and recording of transfers of semi-finished/finished goods.
- Report on key production metrics, including backlog, incoming orders, work in progress, rejects, waste, productivity, etc.
- Develop and review general stocking plans for products that support short and long term inventory strategies and objectives
- Work together with different departments and personnel to adjust inventory levels for finished goods, review obsolescence, review product velocity and safety stock levels.
- Work with Production to coordinate the timely manufacturing of products in order to satisfy inventory and service goals and improve lead times
- Work directly with Purchasing, Warehouse, Finance, Customers Service departments to identify and resolve issues

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor Degree or Equivalent experience
- 5+ years' experience in supply chain/planning/manufacturing operations
- APICS training and experience highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of ERP/MRP, MS Excel, production, and supply chain management tools and procedures in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Experience working with various data sets (e.g., sales, service, production, purchasing, inventory) resulting in analysis that helps improve supply chain functions operations
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment and conform to shifting priorities to meet tight deadlines
