In 2007, Capgemini Consulting’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) team interviewed close to 100 senior procurement managers from a range of companies in all sectors and from across the globe, for the second of our annual global CPO surveys. We explored their top-of-mind issues and critical business challenges faced, as well as looking at priorities for the year ahead and areas of planned activity.

Our subsequent analysis considered key themes such as visibility of the procurement function, talent management and organizational set-up – set against the context of an increasingly pressurised economic landscape and the subsequent indications for business.Â

In this survey we explore how CPOs will look to bolster their function in light of economic pressures, as well as ensuring that they can meet the additional challenges which they face in other areas of the discipline.
