Together with Prof. Delfmann from the University of Cologne we have made a critical study about “Standardization through IT – by preservation of flexibility at the same time”. From our point of view the key for reducing complexity in delivery chains is standardization by modularization which means stability and agility in supply chain management have to be compatible.

On one hand the strategy paper describes the structural challenges in standardizing performance modules in logistics and on the other hand it offers practical application examples with the logistics IT platform AX4.

Reducing complexity is one of the biggest challenges in supply chain management today and in future.
