Our Slingshot to the Moon

Mark Nordick
JDA

Earlier this year JDA CEO Girish Rishi shared JDA’s innovation moonshot: the Autonomous Supply Chain™, JDA’s vision for the supply chain of the future. This vision takes advantage of JDA’s supply chain expertise plus disruptive technologies – such as cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) – and leverages a broad partner ecosystem, all with the goal to develop cognitive and connected solutions that will drive greater value and competitive advantage for our customers.

Since sharing our innovation moonshot, we’ve been moving aggressively toward our vision of the future. First, we introduced JDA® Luminate™, our next-generation supply chain platform and solutions that leverage ML, AI, IoT and SaaS technologies. Then a few weeks ago, we announced JDA’s definitive agreement to buy Blue Yonder, the market leader in AI solutions for retail. Today, we took the next step in turning our Autonomous Supply Chain vision into a reality by announcing a strategic partnership with Microsoft to power data-driven digital transformations in the cloud. This partnership will enable JDA to build future SaaS solutions on the market-leading Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Over time, the Azure platform will become the platform for delivering all JDA Cloud and SaaS solutions globally for our clients. We’re confident that our strategic partnership with Microsoft, along with our investments in ML and AI driven applications via Luminate and Blue Yonder, will help our clients achieve our vision of providing and enabling the Autonomous Supply Chain.

By leveraging Microsoft Azure’s best-in-class cloud-native services, we can build market-leading, differentiated SaaS applications for our customers at a faster pace. Azure provides a range of cloud services, including those for compute, analytics, storage and networking, and is available through data centers located around the world. Not only will JDA customers be able to tap into Microsoft’s large global footprint and global alliances network, but they will also be able to leverage Azure’s large compliance portfolio, embedded security, enterprise-grade service level agreements, and industry-leading support.

One of the many advantages of today’s announcement are the synergies that exist between how JDA and Microsoft go to market. Through joint marketing and co-funding opportunities, we’ll join forces and use our combined solution portfolios to drive digital transformations across key verticals such as retail, manufacturing and logistics. Thanks to this infusion of advanced, intelligent cloud platform capabilities, JDA solutions built on Azure will deliver greater business agility, lower cost of ownership, and enable new supply chain processes to fuel faster profitable growth.

The first solution to be built on Azure will be JDA® Luminate™ ControlTower, a first-of-its-kind virtual decision center that provides real-time, 24/7 end-to-end visibility into global supply chains that will serve as the nerve center for customers’ operations, enabling them to identify bottlenecks and propose resolutions before they occur. Leveraging Azure as the development platform for JDA Luminate ControlTower will accelerate our ability to deliver this key component of the Autonomous Supply Chain.

Learn more about the strategic partnership with Microsoft and how JDA is reshaping supply chains of tomorrow with AI.
