About Our Client
Our client is a leader in the food industry and continues to find ways to diversify themselves. Founded over 40 years ago, they now find themselves working the top quick serving restaurants (QSR) in the country. Our clients Midwest operations cover six different states with over ten manufacturing and warehouse/distribution centers. The Supply Planning team covers the inventory control and forecasting for just the Chicagoland area but the opportunity for growth into a larger role overseeing more facilities is there.

Job Description
The Supply Planner sits in a pivotal spot within the supply planning team. Responsible for the full on communication with a warehouse/distribution center in a different territory, you will be solely responsible for the back-end of the supply chain inventory management. Working directly with on-site personnel in the distribution center, you will ensure that inventory on hand matches forecast reports, control the buying process to complete the replenishment plan. This role will also be responsible for the follow but not limited to:
- Manipulating data in excel and in an advanced forecasting system (JDA). Must have strong experience in pivot tables and VLOOKUP creation and execution
- Grow team through aggressive and creative business development and strategic analysis of the company
- Manage the import program system, including procurement of goods, scheduling, inbound/export flow, inventory turns and freight cost
- Comply with inventory/logistics performance targets and measures
- Achieve established service level i.e. 95-97%

The Successful Applicant
The ideal Supply Planner/Buyer candidate will have the following background; but not limited to:
- Bachelors degree required, business, supply chain or operations focus a preference
- Food industry experience
- Strong analytic and thinking skills
- Strong Excel capabilities, especially knowledge on pivot table and VLOOKUP creation and manipulation
- High level of communication, internally, externally and cross-functionally
- Demonstrate the ability to work well independently with little direction but also must be a strong team player
- Experienced problem solver
