Our client is a global business services firm with strong presence on every major continent. This is a new role in a recently centralized global indirect function at their North American HQ in Chicago. A leader in their industry our client prides itself on taking care of its employees and developing talent internally for current and future growth opportunities.

Job Description

The Director, Global Sourcing - Corporate Services will:

  • Act as the key global Corporate Services sourcing interface with Functional leaders ensuring alignment of strategies and commitments.
  • Analyze cross-divisional spend and develop global strategic sourcing plans to reduce total cost of ownership for all business units.
  • Demonstrate a measurable reduction in year over year total cost of ownership for the goods and/or services being sourced without compromising quality and/or service levels.
  • Provide thought leadership in developing and implementing sourcing strategies.
  • Create subcategory strategies using cross functional teams and sourcing process diligence.
  • Manage contracting process and lead coordination with Legal to ensure commercial relationships are appropriately documented
  • Champion use of eSourcing, Spend Visibility, and P2P tools company-wide
  • Manage the supplier qualification, RFP, supplier selection, contract development, implementation, compliance, and ongoing supply base management process related to Corporate Services
  • Drive functional excellence across the Corporate Services portfolio including skills development and identifying training needs
  • Manage relationships with functional senior management and the suppliers
  • Create and maintain communication mechanism to ensure coordination and reporting of sourcing impact
  • Leads the Americas Sourcing Corporate Services Team
  • Develop staff to create expertise in both the areas of spend being managed and in strategic sourcing processes.
  • Mentor and develop staff through counseling and development of training program that addresses individual areas of improvement.

The Successful Applicant

The Director, Global Sourcing - Corporate Services will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree in Business (Preferred); minimum 4-year undergraduate college degree required in Business, Finance, and/or Supply chain
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Indirect sourcing / operational leadership with global responsibility, preferably with experience in Corporate Services categories
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in Corporate Services spend areas such as HR, Finance / Treasury, Marketing, Professional Services, Legal, Travel, and Fleet Services
  • Requires ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding capacity to make decisions or recommendations based on potentially incomplete information
  • Must be able to work across all functions and levels of an organization
  • Strong leadership and effective business partnering capabilities

What's on Offer

The target compensation for the Director, Global Sourcing - Corporate Services is $150,000 - $180,000 base salary + bonus, commensurate with candidate experience.
