About Our Client

Company has seen double digit growth YoY for the past 5 consecutive annual reports. This accelerated growth is only going to continue based on the ongoing investment into new products NPI and focus on hiring the best talent in the industry. Ideal candidate for the Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing will come from a manufacturing focused company that sells items such as shampoo, conditioner, creams, lotions, cosmetics and related products.

Job Description

This Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing offers the opportunity to truly develop the sourcing activities for all of the spend within the business. This would include but not limited to all Packaging, Chemicals, Additives, and Contract Manufacturing items. This role will have full ownership of the department and report to the President of the company.
Core functions:

  • Continually improve supplier performance in collaboration with the CPG Manufacturing organization.
  • Execute and improve sourcing processes, in order to maximize results, improving bottom line growth and Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Support the Business stakeholders in their decision making, with close involvement of Marketing and Operations (including Development, Supply and Manufacturing organizations).
  • Manage a team of 4 Category Managers, 2 buyers, and one analyst
  • Manage a team tasked with managing price and supplier master data, developing and executing cost reduction projects for a luxury brand, on packaging and contract manufacturing scope.

Improve Profitability

  • Establishing cost bench-marking Identifying and proposing cost reduction initiatives
  • Implementing cost reduction projects
  • Developing & implementing service agreements with suppliers with the goal of separating conception and production costs
  • Run and own relationships with all Material Suppliers for Manufacturing.
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships with our internal and external clients to understand and respond to their business needs and priorities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelors degree a must
  • 8+ years in sourcing roles in the Consumer goods industry
  • 3+ years in a management role
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing packaging, manufacturing, and other production materials.
  • Experience in Contract negotiation & compliance.
  • High Level of engagement, Self-Driven individual with strong communication skills and ability to influence in a matrix organization
  • High degree of financial and analytical skills
  • Legally eligible to work in the US on an ongoing and permanent basis without sponsorship.
