Job Description

Our client is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager who will be responsible to manage and execute the team's sourcing program. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will create sourcing strategies and processes to develop and deliver best in class products. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will drive the raw material sourcing process including vendor management, work-flow management from sourcing, product development, production, and product compliance as well as provide product and risk management. Day to day responsibilities include the following:

  • Identify, develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Facilitate supplier cost modeling, supplier opportunity assessments, supplier financial analysis, and long term contract establishment with focus on continued quality
  • Drive cost out of the Company's supply chain by overseeing competitive bids and negotiating better pricing
  • Ensure adherence to corporate procurement guidelines
  • Manage third party manufacturers to ensure that production requirements are met on time and in full
  • Successfully resolve business and supply chain issues with third party manufacturers that affect product quality or availability
  • Coordinate new product launches with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop third party manufacturer KPI's and scorecard
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and ensure quality compliance
  • Drive the sales forecasting process with input from sales and marketing teams
  • Lead the monthly forecasting meeting as well as share and validate consensus demand plans with executive team
  • Report and improve forecast accuracy and other KPIs

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years procurement experience sourcing, negotiating, and leading procurement projects with raw materials.
  • Demonstrated understanding of raw material to finished product production (incl. packaging & labeling) cycle times and construction
  • Deep knowledge of the relevant supply markets
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skill with high proficiency with Microsoft Excel
