Job Description

The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing will directly oversee select product categories as an essential part of the Sourcing team. The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing will develop, lead, and actively execute category strategy as well as lead and develop direct supports. This individual will be responsible for researching products, negotiations, build supplier relationship, creating and analyzing bids, and making recommendations as to how to grow and improve the business through strategic sourcing.

  • Interface with internal departments such as Purchasing, Operations, Finance as well as Equipment and New Store/Remodeling teams to provide optimum cross-functional planning and execution of Sourcing functions.
  • Collaborate with key business partners to set the strategic and tactical direction for sourcing efforts related to equipment and indirect spend categories, ensuring integration with the business vision and strategy.
  • Participate and conduct business planning sessions in order to fully understand business requirements and sourcing needs.
  • Understand and monitor key spending trends, cost drivers, market factors, geographic considerations, and strategic importance of critical materials/services in order to implement appropriate sourcing strategies.
  • Prepare and analyze RFI, RFQ, and RFP as needed. Analyze responses and work with appropriate internal counterparts for best case award decision.
  • Utilize strategic sourcing tools to sustain continuous cost reduction programs for NDCP's largest controllable expenditures and for the franchisee system.
  • Manage and resolve product supply issues as needed.
  • Locate, analyze, develop and maintain a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future needs of all purchased materials and services.
  • Enhance supplier development by communicating performance standards, developing joint improvement initiatives and actively soliciting formal feedback from internal stake holders.
  • Lead negotiations for business terms and develop contracts for the supply of both standard and complex products and services with new and existing vendors.
  • Ensure supply contingency plans and strategy are up-to date and easily activated in the event primary suppliers are unable to perform as required.
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports

The Successful Applicant

  • Must have experience in New Store Opening/Remodeling and Equipment
  • Experience working with Equipment/Building Material Consolidators
  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing
  • Aptitude to understand complex requirements in multiple indirect categories such as Equipment; Warranty Programs; Fixtures, Tiles, Seating, Construction Materials etc.
  • Industry experience in Foodservice Distribution and a QSR environment is a plus
  • Experience in a purchasing Co-Op is a plus
  • College Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, or relevant field
  • MBA is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
