Are you a born manager who likes to work with multicultural talents in a logistical environment?As our Distribution Center Area Manager, you’ll lead and influence a high performing team in an Omni-channel Nike Distribution Center.The capability to actively listen and address employees' concerns. The ability to process multiple demands to maximize Distribution Center output. The aptitude to manage departmental budget, update Production/Status Report daily and Financial Claims Report monthly.Monitor, review and research Time track reports daily to assure the accuracy of employees' production records and paychecks. You’ll build and maintain interdependent relationships with peers and all functional areas within the facility (operations service, systems, facilities, etc.). Maintain high level of floor presence to direct the flow of work and make the necessary movement of employees.Coach employees on conflicting issues while interacting with HR for best solutions and documenting results. Attend Connect meetings to plan strategy, discuss pertinent information and share best practices with teammates.

  • Leadership is in your DNA and you have a strong interest in working in a logistical environment.
  • Socially skilled, flexible and strong team player that can motivate a team.
  • Functional knowledge of Nike Logistics Systems (NLS) or Lean background preferred
  • Requires a BS degree in Business, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline and at least 3 years management experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment or an additional 2 years in lieu of a degree
  • Working knowledge of automated distribution systems, departmental budgets, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Focus on safety and well-being on the work floor.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, SAP, DCMS and Time track would be a plus.
  • Project management skills preferred.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, attentive to details, work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work as a team member, handle confidential matters in a professional manner, and lead and influence others to accomplish operational objectives.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills, ability to embrace and promote others' ideas, motivate employees, build and maintain working relationships and stay focused.
  • Able to work overtime with little or no notice before or after scheduled shift.
  • Must have ability to access all areas of the warehouse and be able to lift to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to think creatively, recognize new business opportunities and communicate ideas or plans.
  • Must stay organized while managing multiple projects and demonstrate a clear understanding of the Nike business model.
  • Ability to understand our increasingly diverse consumers, our customers, the realities of the marketplace, and what sets us apart from the competition.
