Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is with a well-established (over 100 years old) and growing manufacturer of high-quality mixers, blenders, dryers, reactors, and grinders, ancillary equipment. Their target industries range from foundries to pharmaceuticals. This position will have the opportunity to establish a best in class supply chain strategy for the organization. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in a similar role.


The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for providing facility supply chain leadership including production scheduling, capacity planning, materials requirement planning (MRP), inventory management, and logistics coordination. The position is also responsible for maximizing product availability while optimizing raw, WIP, and finished goods inventories and for maintaining systems data integrity. Lastly but most importantly, this role manages performance and development of department personnel. 


Key areas of responsibilities:


  • Plans, directs, controls, coordinates and evaluates purchasing, forecasting, master scheduling, inventory control, stocking and forecasting.


  • Sets and reviews inventory levels to meet customer demands.
  • Ensures accurate inventory records.
  • Directs and controls warehouse activities to ensure efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing raw materials and finished goods.
  • Plans and schedules department functions to ensure the prompt delivery of supplies and amount required.
  • Manages development of metrics to assess and improve forecast accuracy and other supply chain metrics.
  • Utilizes ERP to design and analyze information in order to generate reports to understand trends, variances, and opportunities.
  • Develops and implements department standards, practices, procedures and policies.
  • Improve production control system via standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and training.
  • Works with Production Manager, Project Management, and Engineering to improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.
  • Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
  • Applies and supports Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Understands and supports ISO 9001:2015 requirements.


Experience and Education


● B.S. degree in Business Administration or Engineering from an accredited college or university

● Minimum of five years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing field

●Working knowledge of lean, six-sigma, and just-in-time processes, procedures, and reporting techniques

●Strong knowledge in ERP software such as SAP or Oracle and knowledge in SolidWorks and AutoCad is a plus.

●APICS CPIM or CSCP certification or equivalent preferred.


●Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification is a plus
