The Warehouse Management System (WMS) Super User provides trend analysis to improve Distribution Center efficiencies while enabling others to be efficient users of the WMS system.

Core Responsibilities

  • Primary on-site systems owner for the warehouse management system (WMS) at the facility, including local configuration, administration, and support.
  • Observes and evaluates building WMS to determine optimal settings, implements WMS configuration changes, and partners with operational leaders to identify WMS gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Researches, troubleshoots and determines root cause of system failures impacting operations, including escalation to appropriate parties, prioritizing open issues with the team.
  • Executes daily health checks for system performance at the local facility and follows up on issues.
  • Participates in configuration, testing/validation and implementation of WMS releases at the distribution center.
  • Leads or assists in training all WMS users as well as other IT related local training on implemented systems and process changes.
  • Manages schedules and expectations within the local facility teams related to all direct customer WMS changes or enhancements and provide regular status updates.
  • Establishes and maintains a safe and healthy work environment. Provides a high level of safety awareness among team members by continuous communication, education and enforcement of safe work practices. Ensures work areas are hazard free, clean and orderly at all times.
  • Establishes team pride in maintaining orderliness and organizing areas of responsibility for employees to adopt.
  • Interprets WMS / Performance results, raises red flags, and proposes solutions. Conducts further analysis to determine root causes and possible solutions. Assists with implementation of solutions.
  • Leads cost improvement initiatives, and projects that will positively impact the warehouse efficiency in terms of cost or morale.
  • Leads facility startups or any transitions and business changes as needs arise. Conduct sanalysis to determine plan.
  • Leads strategic planning activities – volume planning as it relates to warehouse slotting, etc. Other Operational responsibilities as detailed by local facility leadership.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 4+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, required.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience in WMS systems – Accellos WMS & SQL script experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of distribution center operations.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
