Global Procurement Category Manager Indirect

Global Procurement – Indirect 

This role will lead and manage a team (4+ direct reports) across several indirect categories (spend of $300-400M) and will report into the Senior Director Global Category Lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Drive a transformation in the Indirect procurement agenda, to achieve best in class value delivery

·       Managing a ~$300M - $400M spend across multiple geographies and across a broad range of spend areas (e.g. IT, professional services, real estate, ocean freight, marketing services, CAPEX).  High level of complexity and business impact

·       Managing a buying team of 4+ direct reports plus close collaboration with global and regional teams

·       Building relationships and partner key divisions and stakeholders to ascertain and understand stakeholder and business requirements, strategy, challenges and opportunities. 

·       Developing and enforcing policies and procedures that add value within their unique business culture

·       Optimizing procurement within a culture that is entrepreneurial, quick to move and customer focused and where aligning to the company values is important (‘not just what you do but how you do it’).

·       Establishing yourself as the subject matter expert on Indirect procurement with the stakeholders to assist with the projects & service development they will be rolling out.

·       Being part of the Global Procurement leadership team with focus on creating and driving best in class Procurement Organization

·       Drive to achieve extraordinary results, for self, team and the business.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·       BS Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting or applicable field of study

·       Minimum 8 years of experience managing a wide range of Indirect areas of spend either regionally or globally. (e.g. Marketing, logistics, factory services, professional services, Capex & POS)

·       Sharp procurement technical skills including excellent category strategy development, negotiation skills, contract drafting, financial acumen, Procure to Pay

·       Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams and direct reports. Excellent line management: Set & manage to challenge Procure team goals, coach effectively, managing & driving performance, support personal growth

·       Excellent influencing & stakeholder management skills.  Able to engage successfully from Board level to Operations equally effectively

·       Proven ability to drive and lead significant business change in a challenging, fast-paced, truly international business environment

·       Experienced managing across a matrixed environment

·       Excellent commercial instincts & business knowledge.  Experience in working with different cultures and working in global markets

·       Worked in a multi-national & multi-cultural environment

·       Exceptional communicator and influencer

·       Experience in developing best practice sourcing, governance, procedures and policies which protect the business from risk in fast changing environment

·       High learning agility, and committed to personal growth & learning

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Master’s Degree in Business or related field

·       Multiple Management Board experience (internal)

·       Excellent organizational and project management skills. 

·       FMCG sector will be advantageous.
