Sr. Demand Planning Specialist

The Demand Planning Specialist will be responsible for developing a rolling 18-month unit demand forecast for assigned customers incorporating account business intelligence, new items, new item cannibalization, promotion plans, historical and current POS and shipment trends by taking a leadership role in collaborative forecasting, analyzing data and maximizing system utilization.

The Demand Planning Specialist will utilize knowledge of statistical forecasting techniques including time-series, linear regression and executes forecasting processes that includes model calibration.

This position will be responsible for developing and gaining buy-in from sales team business partners an item level unit forecast, and monthly consensus revenue forecast to include new product forecasts, monitoring sell through and customer inventory levels of new items for assigned forecast customers.

The Demand Planning Specialist will create promotional forecasts based on customer’s purchasing strategy and promotional plans. This position will facilitate monthly forecast collaboration meetings with sales team business partners.

This position will prepare analysis to support position and recommendations in clear concise formats to facilitate agreement. The position will be responsible for analyzing and reporting forecast results (consumption, accuracy and root cause for error), including making forecast adjustments and take corrective action in forecast process to minimize error.

This position will be a key stakeholder on system development projects to include design and testing with supply chain and IT business partners. The Demand Planning Specialist will also prepare bridge analysis on an as needed basis.


Bachelor’s degree required in business or related field plus 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of S&OP and Forecasting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective communicator and demonstrated ability to manage across functional areas, tailoring communication and approach to engage all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to influence with impact, including direct communication with key stakeholders
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
  • A strong analytical and quantitative mindset and demonstrated ability to handle and interpret large amounts of data
  • Progressive experience in a similar discipline, taking on leadership projects and a heavy emphasis on statistical forecast modeling
  • Advanced Excel & MS Office skills, required
  • Previous experience using statistical forecast methods
