About Our Client

Our client is a global manufacturer of industrial materials with their North American headquarters near the IL/WI border. With over 50 years in business, our client has an established warehouse footprint globally and is looking to bring on a leader to transform the logistics and warehouse processes/procedures to a more strategic function as the company continues to grow.

Job Description

The Logistics and Warehouse Manager will:

  • Direct warehouse operations and logistics across the organization to ensure optimal productivity
  • Plan and oversee outbound logistics including on-site and off-site inventories and transportation of finished goods
  • Establish and preserve relationships, as well as negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers for logistics providers and inbound supply of raw materials
  • Plan and allocate resources for warehouse picking and shipping processes to ensure daily shipments are picked and shipped promptly following customers' requirements
  • Responsible for managing the department's KPI's, including visual controls; and communicate status to management
  • Spot and understand root cause of problems and execute countermeasures
  • Develop and implement lean initiatives to guarantee continuous improvement
  • Manages all shipping processes, ensuring that procedures and documentation abide by shipping and regulatory requirements
  • Ensures optimal organization of workflow, by determining shipping priorities and methods to meet established schedules

The Successful Applicant

The Logistics and Warehouse Manager will have:

  • Preference for Bachelor's degree in Business Operations, Industrial Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution environment
  • Experience with load/freight management, knowledge of supply chain practices and fulfillment operations
  • Exceptional communication skills to relate and convey information to people from different background and levels in the organization
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills, as well as the ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changes
  • Ability to collaborate and function in a team environment

What's on Offer

The target compensation for the Logistics and Warehouse Manager is $70,000-90,000 base salary + bonus commensurate with candidate experience
