Planning and Materials Manager (S&OP)

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

·         Lead and manage local Purchasing and Planning team as well as cross functional teams to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Supply Chain

·         Drive and manage the S&OP operating system

·         Maintains consistent leadership for materials planning and procurement, including performance management and team development.

·         Develops and manages critical performance goals (material availability, inventory turns, inventory accuracy, supplier on-time delivery) and translates the goals into performance expectations for materials team and forecasts for finance.

·         Aggregates and analyzes sales and forward-looking opportunity pipeline data sets for inclusion into the S&OP process and works with sales and product management seeking alignment at the SKU and product sub-category level.

·         Leads, manages, and directs all materials related processes – including S&OP, delinquency recovery actions, demand management, production control, new product developments and supply chain process improvement activities.

·         Manage Inventory forecasting and develop improvements with the team

·         Drives best practice implementation throughout materials team.

·         Work to provide solutions for unresolved issues, reviewing cost/benefit analysis and alternative scenarios to make critical business decisions directly impacting local operations

·         Analyze and synthesize data to provide recommendations and solutions to the business/finance/sales teams

·         Assures appropriate ordering parameters and vendor expediting actions are in place for the business to meet its goals and execute on time delivery to our customers

·         Develop and manage constrained supply recovery plans; including both current and proactive projections of stock unavailability. Proactively communicate and escalate with customer service and sourcing

·         Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms

·         Partner with key stakeholders to ensure clear requirements are documented

·         Effectively delivers the strategic vision for materials management

·         Responsible for ordering the right amount of material to satisfy customer demand, while protecting the company from excess and obsolete inventory whenever possible.

·         Develops trust throughout materials, operations, and business teams. Collaborates to create the best outcome for our customers

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent, MBA preferred

·         Minimum of 7 years’ experience in materials, planning, scheduling and procurement

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales and Operations Planning

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience leading and managing a high performing team in a manufacturing environment with a mix of contract manufacturing, make to stock, engineer to order and customized bills of materials

·         Knowledge of CRM solutions (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)

·         APICS certification preferred

·         Extensive computer applications, data analysis and business Intelligence abilities (automation, Access, BizObjects, etc.)

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems

·         Knowledge of lean techniques and processes is preferred

·         Demonstrated ability to create, set, and achieve strategic objectives that align with the organization

·         Collaborative working style and thrives in a cross-functional team environment

·         Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team

·         Proven decision making and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage priorities and met deadlines

·         Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities

·         Proficiency in managing and facilitating teams through problem solving and conflict resolutions

·         Strong bias for action, and effective change agent

·         Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills

·         Advanced experience in production scheduling, demand and supply planning processes

·         Experience building and implementing processes to support rapid business growth in a mid-sized company

·         Ability to travel 10% of the time
