In this role, you have the opportunity to

A Procurement Engineer provides Annual Operating Plan (AOP) savings through cost down projects and new product introduction projects. You are considered to be a key partner in significant product cost reduction activities, in early phase innovation or in the manufacturing phase.

You are responsible for

  • Ensuring that optimized Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) (cost, quality, availability) are assured in product and business creation and through their full life cycle, utilizing Design for Excellence (DFX).
  • Generating and executing on savings opportunities through multiple sources including negotiations, sourcing projects and NPD.
  • Procurement Engineer drives the sourcing plan, leading supplier selection and ensuring adherence to the Business Procurement strategy.
  • Driving early supplier involvement and identifies cost drivers to influence design decision making and achieve target costing.
  • Collaborating with Supplier Quality in the new supplier/component release process, including compliance and sustainability aspects
  • Supporting price negotiations with opportunities to drive short and long term cost reduction improvement.

You are a part of

A Procurement Engineering team who are located across multiple sites and work cross-functionally across the business in New Product Development projects, supplier sourcing projects, cost improvement projects while utilizing tools such as Design for Excellence (DFX) and Lean-Six Sigma.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.  Preferred fields include Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, Business
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Procurement Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Quality, R&D or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Supplier Management and Sourcing experience required preferred
  • Preferred experience in Change Management,
  • Preferred experience leading cross-site and cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills required
