My client is looking to fill a Warehouse Operations Manager in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. They are a growing organization looking to double their revenue over the next three years. My client products service hundreds of different industries (Apple, Google, ConAgra, local Governments) and have been deemed as an essential business. They are looking for someone who can manage daily shipping and distribution operations in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that goods are shipped and delivered in a timely manner and help transform their logistics operation.

Description

• Work with Scheduler, Production Supervisors and Quality to coordinate timing for outbound shipments.
• Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading etc.
• Direct the flow of packages from preparation (crating) to shipment.
• Handle all freight claims
• Perform activities related to onboarding new carriers into the customer network
• Compile and interpret performance metrics for meetings with customers and carriers; address and resolve carrier-related issues
• Analyze historical and freight pay data to ascertain changes, anomalies or new opportunities within the network
• Supervise and lead subordinates (receiving clerks, shipping clerk, crating, etc.). Team of 6+ professionals
• Control budget of the shipping department.
• Ensure departmental records are maintained in accordance with established policies, procedures and audit guidelines

• 3+ years of combined experience in carrier procurement and logistics/operations
• Solid experience with all modes of transportation, transit times, carrier contracts and networks
• Understanding of and experience with Less-than-Truckload (LTL), UPS, Dedicated Truck, etc.
• Strong experience with and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Access)
• Pivot Tables, V-Lookups major Plus
• Experience with an ERP system is a must
• Good understanding of budgeting and reporting.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain project deadlines
• Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities.
