Job Description

  1. Work with freight carriers to schedule trucks to pick-up and delivery of goods.
  2. Maintain delivery schedules and track deliveries to ensure deliveries are met.
  3. Updates and provides tracking information to customers as well as to internal managers.
  4. Perform regular audits of logistics procedures to develop and maintain a high-level view of our organizational logistics capabilities.
  5. Analyze delivery costs and recommended more cost-effective methods of transportation.
  6. Negotiate contracts with outside transportation companies.
  7. Handle customer complaints, and investigate delivery issues, damaged products and late or lost deliveries.
  8. Develop recommendations for process improvements, outlining present challenges and how improvements can bolster our operational strengths.
  9. Coordinate logistics schedules between vendors, internal departments, transportation staff, and clients.
  10. Stay abreast of emerging technology and organizational methodologies in order to recommend opportunities for improvement and growth.

The Successful Applicant

  • Ideally holds a bachelor's degree in logistics, business management, or a closely related field; preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in a logistics and transportation role
  • Strong proficiency with standard productivity and presentation software
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong business ethics
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus
